Yet Another World Protector

Yet Another World Protector (YAWP) is a powerful administrative tool for protecting your Minecraft server, whether it's a dedicated server, local network, or single-player game. The mod is available for (Neo-)Forge and Fabric platforms.

Main Features

This tool is primarily designed for use on dedicated servers but also functions perfectly in single-player worlds and worlds opened to local networks. It provides administrators (and players with appropriate permissions) the ability to protect their builds from various actions by players, mobs, and the environment.

Create protected zones for your builds and configure region flags for their protection. Assign players or standard teams to manage regions, allowing them to independently control their territories.

Types of Protection Regions

YAWP features three different types of regions for server protection:

Global Region

The Global Region, as the name suggests, applies server-wide. Flags set in the Global Region affect all dimensions of the server and, accordingly, all local regions.

Dimensional Regions

Dimensional Regions are special zones tied to specific dimensions, similar to game rules for different dimensions. They have no spatial restrictions within the corresponding dimension and are automatically generated when new dimensions are created.

Local Regions

Local Regions are the familiar protected zones with defined territories. With them, you can create areas in the world that are protected from specific actions by players, entities, or the environment.

Region Hierarchy

When creating a new local region without specifying a parent region, the dimensional region where the new zone is created automatically becomes the parent. Local regions can also have child regions, which must be completely contained within the parent zone.

Region Management

Regions have owners and regular members. Owners can manage the region and bypass set restrictions, while members can only bypass protection flags.

Flag System

Flags are the foundation of the region protection system. They determine which actions are allowed or prohibited in a region. Flags can be set to three states:

• Allowed - permits the corresponding action
• Denied - prohibits the corresponding action
• Disabled - disables checking of the specific flag

Interactive Interface

All properties of regions, flags, groups, and other elements can be managed through an interactive command-line interface. Colored text indicates interactive commands or suggestions, while tooltips explain the functionality of each element.

Automation and Integration

Mod commands can be executed through the server console and command blocks, allowing automation of region setup, adding/removing players, enabling or disabling regions, and much more.

YAWP provides a growing API for integration with other mods and modpacks, allowing listening to region creation, modification, and deletion events, as well as manipulating flag check results.

Configuration and Localization

The mod configuration allows control over who can use the functionality, setting default flags for local and dimensional regions, configuring command interface parameters, and much more.

Client-side mod installation provides language support in the form of a resource pack. Currently, English, German, and Russian languages are supported.

Current Status and Plans

The mod is in active development and has beta status. Many features are not yet implemented but are planned for future updates.

The mod will be released for Minecraft versions 1.16.5 and above. Starting with Minecraft 1.20.4, YAWP will only be available for NeoForge.
