New Implementation of Classic Stealing Mechanics

This mod represents a completely reworked version of the original You Thief! addon with an improved and more precise theft detection system that creates interesting challenges for players.

How the Stealing System Works

Now when you open or break chests and barrels belonging to village residents, nearby peasants immediately react to your actions. They become angry and sharply increase prices on all goods during trading.

The mechanics are fully integrated with the vanilla villager gossip system. If iron golems hear about your misdeeds from local inhabitants, they will also start attacking you. Additionally, you receive a bad luck effect that lasts for an entire game day. Now you'll have to seriously consider the consequences before each theft!

Smart Location Detection

The system accurately determines location - you only provoke the anger of residents and golems when interacting with containers inside the village. Placing, opening, or breaking your own chests and barrels doesn't cause negative reactions.

Planning to place your chest next to a village one and combine them into one big container? It won't work! The local residents are smart enough to recognize this trick. However, they can make mistakes - if you place your container next to a naturally generated one, they might confuse them. Try not to confuse them!

Successful Stealing Methods

How to steal "correctly"? Remember how you steal from piglins! You can also use a magical approach - drink an invisibility potion, become completely invisible, and then you can do whatever you want without consequences!

Think the system is too harsh? We made stealing more profitable! Now the loot in village chests and barrels has been doubled!
