Yttr - Exploring the Void and Rethinking the Vanilla Experience
Yttr is a comprehensive modification for Fabric and Quilt that serves as a tribute to the modding era of versions 1.4-1.6. This project offers a fresh perspective on many familiar mechanics, unique world generation, original music, and completely new gameplay systems.
Starting as a collection of useful additions, Yttr has evolved into a harmonious blend of content mod and vanilla overhaul. The mod is organized around three main branches that expand the standard dimensions: Void for the Overworld, Scorched for the Nether, and Continuity for the End.
The first major challenge involves using the multifunctional Yttric Rifle to create a fissure in bedrock, revealing access to a geothermal spring of liquid Void. This anomaly resulted from an alchemical catastrophe many years ago, which also led to the emergence of the familiar Wasteland biome. After thorough preparation, you can dive into the Void for instant travel between fissures created by you or other players. However, insufficient preparation may result in the complete destruction of even your items during the dissolution process.
The Scorched branch completely reworks the upper layers of the Nether, transforming them into an ominous biome covered in soot. Access to this area is significantly simplified, and your farms remain safe since nothing spawns on the natural blocks of this biome.
Roots of Continuity can be found beneath floating End islands. Breaking them with a pickaxe yields a Drop of Continuity and sends the island into the abyss, but be careful—you might be watched.
The mod also offers a system of "abominations," providing an alternative solution for automatic crafting and item sorting. These aren't just blocks with amusing textures but complex mechanisms: a skeleton on an operating table, a hybrid of silverfish and creeper in a beehive, or a combination of enderman and zombie bound to a hopper—all to simplify logistics.
Yttr treats item creation as a gameplay mechanic rather than just an interface, closely integrating processes with the surrounding world. From automatic crushing and bottling of gaseous shroomlight to securing a skeleton in a trap on a table—the mod avoids recipes that can be automated using digital storage systems. All recipe types have detailed integration with EMI.
In addition to everything, the mod includes numerous useful "vanilla+" elements: Dopper with dual outputs and round-robin distribution, Flopper (sideways hopper), Chute for moving items downward or centering thrown objects, Yttrium Button with one-tick activation, note blocks with half-tick delay, and much more.
The mod's capabilities extend far beyond what's described: solvent-weldable plastic Bloques®, stylish lamps, permanent neodymium magnets, centrifuge, unique Deep-Sea Squeeze Trees, new enchantments and curses, circuit system based on InfraRedstone (in development), and much more.
