Zume
Zume mod provides a functional solution for changing the field of view in Minecraft. When pressing the assigned key, the field of view narrows, allowing detailed viewing of distant objects. Additional key combinations enable adjustment of the zoom level.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the configuration file located?
The configuration file is located at .minecraft/global/zume.json5
(note that this is the root .minecraft
folder, not the instance-specific folder). Changes to the file are applied automatically without restarting the game. In installations with mod menus (such as Forge or Fabric with Mod Menu), the Zume settings button opens this file in the system text editor.
Which versions are supported?
Zume is compatible with the following platforms:
- Fabric: all versions supported by Fabric Keybinding API v1 (currently 14.4+)
- NeoForge: 20.4+ (requires NeoForge 20.4.195+)
- LexForge: 14.4 - 20.5 (requires MixinBootstrap for versions before 16.1)
- Legacy Fabric: all versions supported by Legacy Fabric Keybinding API v1 (7.10 - 12.2)
- Babric (Fabric for Minecraft Beta): versions compatible with Station API (b7.3)
- Vintage Forge: 8.9 - 12.2 (requires MixinBooter or UniMixins)
- Archaic Forge: 7.10 (requires UniMixins)
Can support for other platforms be added?
All planned platforms for support are already implemented. Proposals for adding new platforms are accepted under the following conditions:
- Compatibility with existing versions must not be compromised
- Platforms with native compatibility layers for already supported systems are not supported
- Implementation should not include manual management of game settings
- Maximum compatibility with other mods on target platforms
- Adherence to existing development format
- No exclusive features without valid justification
