achromatic
achromatic is a unique resource pack that strives to maximally desaturate the Minecraft game world. The authors reworked all textures, converting them to grayscale, modified internal shaders to remove color, and changed many built-in color schemes.
This was an extremely challenging task, and if you need a truly perfect colorless result, it might be better to use specialized shader packs, as even this deep rework cannot provide absolute colorlessness.
Frequent Questions
Some blocks still appear colored (e.g., spruce/birch leaves, lily pads) Reload chunks using F3+A — this should solve the problem. Most likely, this is related to Polytone's operation peculiarities.
Will it work with content from other mods? Interface elements should display correctly, but blocks and objects in the world will remain colored. If you need support for a specific mod, create a request on GitHub — adding compatibility should be straightforward.
Can it be used without Polytone? Yes, technically possible, but many elements will remain colored — this needs to be considered.
Compatibility with other resource packs If you place another resource pack above achromatic, textures modified by it will no longer be black and white, although shaders will continue to work. The result may look strange. With the reverse order, achromatic will overwrite the other pack's textures. Overall, compatibility is extremely limited.
Support for other Minecraft versions Testing was only conducted on version 1.20.1. For other versions, you can submit a request on GitHub.

Known Issues
- Lava fog still has color (fix attempted through Polytone didn't work)
- Sky light has a slight blue tint, and block light has an orange tint (correction attempts through the lightmap shader were unsuccessful)
Requirements
- Polytone — mandatory mod for operation
- When using Sodium, ensure version 0.5.7 or newer (otherwise color maps won't work)
