Naikai Font

NaikaiFont is a font resource pack for Minecraft, representing an adapted version of an open source font created by Max based on the Chinese SetoFont by author Nozomi Seto. The main purpose of this resource pack is to provide quality display of Chinese characters in the game, as the font contains over 40,000 glyphs.

There are three different versions of the resource pack, each optimized for specific usage conditions:

Available Versions

Vanilla Version - This version does not require installation of additional mods and is completely self-sufficient. However, when using standard Minecraft rendering, the font may display with visible jagged edges, especially noticeable with bold styling which renders incorrectly. Compatible with game versions starting from Minecraft 1.13, where TTF font format support was added.

Caxton-MSDF Version - This version requires installation of the Caxton mod. The main advantage is practically unlimited font resolution due to MSDF vector rendering usage. This ensures clear text display at any scale. The main disadvantage is incompatibility with Iris mod: with shaders enabled, text on signs in the game world doesn't display, although interface texts work normally.

Caxton-Raster Version - This version also requires the Caxton mod, but uses raster rendering method instead of vector. The main difference from standard Minecraft method is the application of blur and mipmap technology, which effectively combats font jagged edges. When working with small-sized text, the visual difference between Raster and MSDF versions is almost unnoticeable.

Display Settings

Changing font parameters requires installation of the Respackopts mod. Among the available options:

  • Text shadow adjustment (disabled by default)

Advanced Caxton Settings

Users who want to fine-tune font display can edit Caxton configuration files. Here are the main parameters:
