notandvm's creepers!
For this resource pack to function properly, ETF and Animatica or standard Optifine are required. As a fan of vanilla style with minimal modifications, I've always paid attention to creepers — their textures remained unchanged through numerous updates, even after Minecraft's global texture overhaul in version 1.14.
The problem is that the original creeper texture was designed to perfectly blend with the environment, and it worked! However, with the introduction of colormaps and the updated texture system, creepers became too noticeable, losing their camouflage function.
Searching for existing resource packs that fix this issue revealed that most of them are either long abandoned, not accurate enough, or deviate too much from the vanilla style. Therefore, I decided to create my own resource pack with biome-adapted creepers!
Main features:
Precise color variations! Each creeper inhabiting grassy biomes has coloring that matches the grass blocks in the specific biome.
Altitude consideration! Instead of using a single texture for similar biomes, I considered landscape generation features — creeper textures change depending on their spawn altitude.
Full compatibility with Fresh Animations! The resource pack works immediately after installation. To activate subtle face and eye animation, replace standard textures with corresponding alternatives from the "FACE-VARIANTS" folders. These folders are located at:
- textures/entity/creeper
- optifine/mob/creeper
- optifine/anim/[animated creeper texture]
