Windows Pack
My Minecraft resource pack is built around an interesting constraint - using only a 16-color Windows palette. While the result may not always appear maximally refined, it's this very challenge of working with a limited color set that creates a distinctive retro style. All game textures - from blocks to items - have been carefully redesigned using exclusively these 16 colors:
Windows Color Palette (16x):
- Black (#000000)
- Dark Gray (#7e7e7e)
- Light Gray (#bebebe)
- White (#ffffff)
- Dark Red (#7e0000)
- Bright Red (#fe0000)
- Dark Green (#047e00)
- Bright Green (#06ff04)
- Dark Yellow (#7e7e00)
- Bright Yellow (#ffff04)
- Dark Blue (#00007e)
- Bright Blue (#0000ff)
- Dark Magenta (#7e007e)
- Bright Magenta (#fe00ff)
- Dark Cyan (#047e7e)
- Bright Cyan (#06ffff)
Such limitation creates a pixel art style that evokes nostalgia and is appreciated by those who find creativity in design constraints interesting.
