ecos shader for Canvas
Lightweight graphics improvements for gaming on laptops.
Background
Recently I bought a laptop, and when running Lumi Lights on it, the device started overheating significantly. As an alternative, I created this shader. It's not an exact replica, but preserves the core concepts I wanted in a shader while maintaining minimal performance impact.
Main Features
- Shadows (optional, impact on laptop depends on settings)
- Blur lighting effects (Bloom)
- Image toning
- Enhanced metallic and glass surfaces
- Beautiful water
- Fog
- Preservation of vanilla style (mostly, possible changes in the future)
In Development
- Anti-aliasing
- Advanced water shading
- Colored light sources
Unique Feature
- Ignoring standard lightmap (ecos uses its own lighting system)
How to Install and Use
If this is your first time working with Canvas shaders:
-
Place the shader ZIP file in the resourcepacks folder, then activate the resource pack. Note: if you already have other Canvas shaders, it's recommended to place ecos above them in the selected resource pack list.
-
Go to Video Settings... -> Canvas -> Pipeline Options.
-
Click the "Pipeline: [pipeline name]" button and select "ecos shader". Click "Done" and close the settings window.
