Craftoon — Splatoon Launcher in Minecraft
After a long development period, Craftoon is ready for release! This is a functional implementation of Splatoon game mechanics within Minecraft, created using datapacks, resource packs, and command blocks. Supports up to 12 players (8 recommended), compatible with servers (however, only one match can run at a time).
🛠️ Important Installation Information
⚠️ Important note: OptiFine is required for the map to work correctly! Without it, the resource pack won't function. When playing locally, each player must download the resource pack that comes with the map in a .zip archive.
Although the map works without OptiFine, it's necessary for the complete visual experience. A vanilla-compatible version is planned for the future, but currently OptiFine is mandatory for proper texture display.
Step-by-step Installation:
- Download the map archive
- Extract files: in the world folder you'll find an additional "resources" archive
- Place the world folder in the "saves" directory, and the resource pack — in the "resourcepacks" folder
- For multiplayer: each player must install the resource pack, or set it as server assets
🏙️ Maps and Environment
You'll find Inkopolis Square in nearly exact scale, filled with detailed locations!
- Music mini-game replaced with music player
- Functional seating at tables
- Clothing shops offer selection of hats, shirts, and shoes (individual for each player, persists between matches)
- Main tower leads to mode selection (currently only Turf War available), then to map, team, and weapon selection
- 4 unique maps with different gameplay, random selection between rounds possible
🎨 Ink Mechanics
Almost all basic Splatoon mechanics implemented with high accuracy:
- Ink covers surfaces upon contact
- Walls covered by your team's ink allow climbing (sneaking)
- Sneaking player refills ink tank and transforms into squid, swimming in own ink
- Enemy ink slows movement
- Falling into water or outside gameplay zone instantly kills player
⚔️ Game Mechanics
- Match timer: 3 minutes
- Music accompaniment: Splatoon track covers created with note blocks
- Team system: up to 6 players per team (4 recommended)
- Precise scoring system (by blocks)
- Spectator mode after death with unique death messages
- Automatic map reset after each round
🔫 Weapon Arsenal
6 main weapon types with unique secondary abilities:
-
Splattershot/Splat Bomb — standard weapon with high fire rate. Bomb given when ink tank fully replenished.
-
Splatterscope/Burst Bomb — requires full charge to shoot, but has greater power. Gives 2 bombs at full capacity.
-
Splat Roller/Ink Mine — leaves ink trail while moving. Mine kills first enemy stepping on it.
-
Quad Slosher/Ink Wall — creates short-range ink projectiles. Wall blocks enemy movement and deals damage.
-
Longbow/Autobomb — fires three spreading arrows, covering large area. Autobomb chases nearest enemy.
-
Tenta Brella — unique weapon combining offensive and defensive functions. Can be used as weapon or shield.
Due to technical limitations, only one player per team can use each weapon type.
