Actually Snowmen
A simple Minecraft Forge mod that introduces several useful improvements to snow golem mechanics, making them more functional in gameplay.
Main Features
Snow golems with pumpkins on their heads now emit light, making them excellent companions for mining resources or nighttime exploration. You can leash them and use them as mobile light sources.
The mod adds an alternative way to create snowmen - instead of the standard 2 snow blocks and a carved pumpkin, you can use 3 snow blocks. In this case, a snowman without a pumpkin is created, which receives the name "Snowman".
It is also now possible to put a pumpkin on the head of a snow golem that doesn't have one. At the same time, the standard Minecraft mechanics are preserved - the pumpkin can be removed using shears.
Snow golems with pumpkins now drop 1 pumpkin upon death, and they can be created from both regular snow and powdered snow (currently there is no difference between them).
Configurable Parameters
All main mod features can be customized to your preferences:
- Option to disable snow golem light emission (enabled by default)
- Setting the light level emitted by snow golems
- Option to disable the ability to put pumpkins on snow golems
- Setting pumpkin drop upon snow golem death
- Option to disable automatic naming of "Snowman" for snow golems without pumpkins
- Setting creation of snow golems from powdered snow
Note: If a snow golem was named using a name tag, that name takes priority and will not be changed when the pumpkin is removed.
Planned Improvements
In future versions, it's planned to replace the pumpkin removal mechanics using shears with a simpler option - the ability to remove the pumpkin by simply right-clicking with an empty hand. This feature will be configurable.
Known Issues
No issues have been identified in the mod's operation at this time.
