Advanced Fishing
The Advanced Fishing mod completely transforms fishing in Minecraft by adding 43 new fish species and completely overhauling the fishing mechanics. Each fish now inhabits only specific biomes, dimensions, and liquid types, making fishing more realistic and engaging.
What's New in Fishing
The catch system has been completely redesigned. Fish are now distributed across various locations:
- Deserts, savannas, and mesas: besides standard cod and squid, you can find sandy bass, golden koi, and sunfish
- Jungles: dangerous piranhas, sparkling eel, and mandarinfish
- Swamps: ruffle, mud tuna, and swamp plaice
- Snowy biomes and taiga: snowy walleye, frost minnow, and glacier anchovy
- Oceans and beaches: blue jellyfish, angelfish, pufferfish, clown fish, and even sponge eater
Special Locations
In the deep ocean, you can catch abyssal lurker and angler fish. In caves at different depths, rare species inhabit: specular snapper (50 blocks), cave trout (40 blocks), crystal mullet and charged bullhead (25 blocks).
Fishing in Other Dimensions
The End: here you'll find ender shad, pearl sardine, and chorus koi
The Nether: in lava, you can catch obsidian bream, magma jellyfish, and wither skull. Only in the Nether can you find nether sturgeon, quartz chub, fungi catfish, withered crucian, flarefin koi, and blaze pike
Unique Items
Blazing Fishing Pole - a special fishing rod for fishing in lava. It cannot be crafted - can only be found in Nether fortress chests or caught in lava.
Luck Potion - a new potion with an added recipe.
