akkamaddi's Ashenwheat - Unique Agricultural Crops

Welcome to a modification that expands farming possibilities in Minecraft by adding four specialized agricultural crops with useful properties. This project was originally created by akkamaddi but subsequently received further development by other programmers.

Mod Features

The mod offers players the opportunity to grow unusual plants, each with unique characteristics and practical applications:

Ashenwheat - A dark wheat variety with a sulphurous hue that literally emits smoldering embers. The plant glows from internal heat and grows slower than regular wheat. It can be used to make hay bales, bread, and even cookies! All products from ashenwheat can be used as fuel in furnaces, and bread made from it can be smelted into charcoal.

Ossidroot - A mysterious plant with a large, hard, bulbous root resembling a skull. Fresh root can be smelted into calcified ash to create bonemeal. If you carve a hole in the root and place a torch, you get an ossid lantern similar to a jack-o'-lantern. Ossidroot plants and lanterns created from them emit an ominous gloom.

Ashenwheat Crops

Thundergrass - Thick, resilient grass that produces more seeds when dried. The seeds can be smelted into small lumps of unstable soot, which are then used to create gunpowder. The plant glows with a weak light and smokes from internal heat.

Scintillawheat - A rare and slow-growing wheat variety that glows brighter than ashenwheat and shimmers even in sunlight. It can also be used to make hay bales, bread, and cookies. Scintillawheat bales can be smelted to obtain scintillating ash, from which glowstone dust is created.

Compatibility and Technical Features

The mod includes features from Wuppy29's PeacefulPack, providing resource plants for players who prefer peaceful game mode. For Forestry users, calcified ash is registered in the Ore Dictionary as "dustAsh" and should work as ash in that mod's recipes.

Versions for Minecraft 1.16.5 and newer require SimpleCoreLib. Earlier versions for 1.10.2 and 1.11 need McJty's CompatLayer library, while versions 1.14.4 and 1.15.2 are completely standalone.
