Hadite Coal - Hellish Coal from the Nether
Mod Overview
Hadite Coal is a ported version of the module from akkamaddi's Additions mod for Minecraft versions 1.12.2 and above. This is an add-on for Simple Ores that introduces unique hellish coal from the Nether dimensions.

Features of Hellish Coal
Hadite Coal is a foul-smelling, sulfurous ore mined in the Nether. While technically not exactly "coal," its properties are similar enough to justify the name.
The ore generates in netherrack and has unique properties: it glows faintly due to internal heat and emits smoke and sparks when players approach, making it easily noticeable in dark Nether caves.
Mining and Usage
Mining the ore requires at least a stone pickaxe. When the block is broken, it drops a piece of Hadite Coal, which has exceptional properties as fuel. Due to high density and sulfur content, this coal burns significantly longer and hotter than regular coal - one piece powers a furnace for over 10 minutes.

Block Creation and Alloys
Nine coal pieces can create a storage block that glows brighter than the ore and is surrounded by floating flame wisps. The block burns for over an hour in a furnace and can be used as a permanent fire source when ignited with flint and steel.
Hadite Coal is used in various recipes:
- One coal piece and eight sticks create a full stack of torches
- In a fusion furnace with flint and regular coal, it creates gunpowder
- Used to create two unique alloys

Unique Alloys
The mod adds two special alloys:
Hadite Steel: Iron + Hadite Coal with gunpowder catalyst
Gestankenzinn: Tin + Hadite Coal with coal/charcoal catalyst
These alloys are created as large chunks that are then smelted into ingots. They can be used to create durable tools but are unsuitable for armor due to unpleasant odors.
Material Recycling
The mod includes a system for recycling used tools. Worn items made from Hadite alloys can be remelted back into original materials using gravel and coal as catalysts.

Connection to Onyx
Hadite Coal is a geological precursor to onyx in the Nether world, similar to how coal is a precursor to diamond in the regular world. This explains the sulfurous smell of onyx when mined. Hadite Coal can be used as a catalyst when recycling onyx equipment.

Particle Settings
The configuration file allows control over visual effects:
####################
# general
####################
general {
B:"Hadite Block emits flames"=true
B:"Hadite Ore spits fire"=true
}
These settings allow disabling flame particles to improve performance on weaker computers.
Compatibility Requirements
For Minecraft versions 1.14.4-1.16.1, SimpleOres and Fusion mods are required. For versions 1.16.3 and above, SimpleCoreLib and Fusion are necessary, with SimpleOres becoming an optional dependency.
