Animania Extra Animals

This additional module for Animania expands your game world with numerous new animals featuring unique behaviors and mechanics.

Requirements

Important: This module requires the base version of Animania mod to be installed!

New Animals

Ferrets

Found in savannas. Available in gray and white colors. Ferrets can be tamed by feeding them their favorite food - eggs and raw mutton. After taming, hearts will appear above them.

Behavioral features:

• Can sit on command (right click)
• Tamed ferrets can sit on player's shoulder (Shift + RMB)
• Drink water from water bodies or by hand
• Steal eggs from chicken nests (chickens may defend themselves)
• Hunt frogs and toads in the wild

Note: ferret breeding is not yet implemented

Hedgehogs

Inhabit forests. Available as normal and albino varieties. Tamed with favorite food: eggs, carrots, and beets.

Behavioral features:

• Can sit on command
• Tamed hedgehogs can sit on shoulder
• Drink water from various sources
• Steal eggs from nests
• Dig up carrots, beets, and potatoes from farms
• Hunt frogs and toads

Note: hedgehog breeding is not yet implemented

Hamsters

Found in deserts and beaches. Available in various color variations. Hamsters love storing food in their cheek pouches and following players who have food in hand.

Behavioral features:

• Tamed with special hamster food
• Can sit on command and wag tails
• Tamed hamsters can sit on shoulder

Hamster balls:

• 16 different colors
• Recipe: 8 glass panes + any dye (or none for clear)
• Allows hamsters to roll around in balls

Hamster wheel:

• Generates energy for compatible tech mods
• Crafting recipe available in game
• Requires tamed and well-fed hamster
• Food can be added directly to the wheel

Note: hamster breeding is not yet implemented

Peafowl

7 different variations including India Blue, White, Charcoal, Opal, Peach, Purple, and Taupe. Inhabit jungles and swamps.

Behavioral features:

• Eat seeds scattered on ground or fed by hand
• Drink water from water bodies and troughs
• Eat frogs and toads
• Peahens lay eggs in nests
• Favorite food: seeds

Amphibians

Three types: regular frogs, dart frogs, and toads. Serve as ambient creatures without favorite foods.

Distribution:

• Frogs: swamps and rivers
• Dart frogs: jungles
• Toads: swamps

Behavioral features:

• Frogs are afraid of players
• Dart frogs are dangerous to touch
• Poison arrows can be created from frog poison
• Serve as prey for chickens, ferrets, peafowl, and hedgehogs
