Apothic Attributes (AttributesLib)

Apothic Attributes is a library mod that significantly simplifies working with attributes in Minecraft. It adds numerous useful tools for interacting with character characteristics, debugging them, and utilizing them.

Attributes Interface

The mod includes a special interface for viewing attributes, accessible via the sword button in the inventory. This window displays all attributes assigned to your character. You can filter the list to show only modified characteristics, and hovering over any attribute reveals a detailed description with additional information.

Armor Calculation System

To support new characteristics such as Armor Pierce, Armor Shred, Protection Pierce, and Protection Shred, Apothic Attributes completely reworks the damage reduction calculation mechanics for armor and protection.

In standard Minecraft, armor reduces damage based on the armor toughness value and incoming damage amount. With Apothic Attributes, only armor reduces received damage, while armor toughness reduces the effectiveness of enemy attacks with Armor Pierce and Armor Shred.

Potion Tooltips

Another useful feature for players is improved potion tooltips. Descriptions are added to potion items that are not simple attribute modifiers. These descriptions, along with attribute modifiers, are displayed when hovering over active effects in the inventory.

Attribute Formatting

Apothic Attributes allows characteristics to format their own tooltips. The most notable example is Percentage-Based Attributes, which always display their values in percentage form, regardless of the modifier type. Standard characteristics Speed and Knockback Resistance are displayed in percentage mode.

Part of this feature is additional tooltip information. When advanced tooltips (F3+H) are enabled, additional information about the modifier type and base value is displayed.

• Addition modifiers display text like [+100]
• Multiply Base modifiers show text like [+20x]
• Multiply Total modifiers display text like [x10]

It's worth noting that Multiply Total values have their base value offset by +1, even in the advanced tooltip display. This is due to how they are applied (a Multiply Total modifier causes the final value to be multiplied by 1+value).

Apothic Attributes depends on Placebo and is available via Maven:
