Aspen : Bountiful Beginnings

Giant Crops

This mod completely revamps the farming system! Potatoes, carrots, beetroot, wheat, netherwart, and sweet berries can now grow to enormous sizes. Using a new mechanic, you plant special "stimulating" companion plants nearby - one friend accelerates random growth spurts, two make it much more frequent. During the full moon, when both companions are present near the main crop, it can transform into a true giant, giving your garden incredible beauty.

Aspen Forest

Discover the new aspen forest biome - a magical place with yellowing vegetation and mysterious fungal activities. Aspen wood has a unique color between birch and oak. Logs can be processed for growing mushroom colonies or used to create aspen totems. Also in the grass of this biome, you can find strange spore prints - feed them a spider eye and watch what grows!

Aspen Totem

This special block, crafted from aspen wood, allows you to perform exchange rituals. Offering it a poisonous potato gives you a seed of life - the only way to grow giant daidarabotchi bamboo. Offering a pufferfish grants a golden pepita for cultivating fatstems, which produce glistening melons during the day and golden pumpkins at night.

Mementos

The totem also helps recover lost mementos - esoteric items you receive for completing all update achievements. Each contains a poem hinting at the next update. If you lost such an item or didn't receive it due to a full inventory, simply rename paper to the name of the needed memento and offer it to the totem.

Enhanced Melons

All types of melons and pumpkins can now be carved, creating various variants including lanterns. Glistening melon slices can be turned into shimmering sorbet with sugar and ice.

Mushroom Plantations

Thanks to the new biome, you can organize large-scale mushroom farms. Process aspen logs with a sword to create notches, then use inoculants. These are prepared by brewing small mushrooms in tinted glass bottles (created like regular ones but using dark glass). During the day, mushroom colonies mature to small sizes, and at night they transform into huge formations. Recipes have been added for creating all mushroom blocks and stems.
