Attrition is an elegant data pack designed for those seeking a middle ground between standard survival and ruthless hardcore mode. This mod introduces a subtle but tangible system of penalties for death while maintaining Minecraft's vanilla atmosphere.

Core Mechanism

Each of your deaths results in the loss of one heart from your maximum health pool. However, the system also provides recovery options - by eating an enchanted golden apple, you can restore one heart. The maximum limit is 20 hearts, as in the standard game.

The most dramatic situation occurs when you have only one heart of maximum health left and you die - in this case, the game is considered lost, and you transition to spectator mode.

Additional Features

The mod accompanies key events with special sound effects and chat messages, making the gameplay more interactive. At the same time, Attrition does not affect other aspects of gameplay, fitting perfectly into vanilla Minecraft.
