Bad Mobs

This mod provides a convenient tool for completely disabling standard mob spawning in Minecraft. After installing the modification, you gain the ability to fine-tune the configuration file to customize creature spawning behavior according to your needs.

How to Use

First, download the mod and install it into the mods folder. Launch the game or server once, then close it. Locate the badmobs configuration file in the config directory, which is located next to the mods folder. Edit this file using any text editor, selecting which specific creatures should not appear in the world. Save the changes and restart the game.

Potential Issues

In Minecraft versions before 1.19.4, disabling normal spawning also blocks the functionality of spawners and spawn eggs. This error occurs due to shortcomings in Forge that were fixed in newer versions. There are no problems with version 1.19.4 and above.

If monsters continue to spawn but become invisible – this indicates a mismatch in settings between the client and server. Ensure that the mod is installed with identical configuration on both sides.

Bad Mobs must be present on both the client and server sides. The possibility of running only on the server is not officially supported by the developer.

Do not attempt to create a zombie apocalypse using this mod. Although you can keep only zombies and block other monsters, there are more suitable tools available for such tasks.

Configuration reset when launching Minecraft occurs when errors are detected in the settings file. In this case, Forge automatically recreates the file with default values – verify the correctness of the changes made.
