Bagek's Coat Addon - A SWEM Addon
This addon significantly expands the coat options for horses from the SWEM mod while completely preserving all original color schemes. The mod is specifically designed for Minecraft version 1.18.2. The SWEM developers have already announced that version 1.20 will include a special section for custom coats.
To use the mod, you need to install it and then apply a resource pack that will replace the standard coat textures (or use white base textures). To replace one of the temporary coats, rename your horse texture file according to the names of the temporary textures in the assets→bagekscoataddon→pony folder in your own resource pack. If you don't know how to create a resource pack, we recommend watching tutorial videos on YouTube.
Pony Features
Ponies in this mod have all the characteristics of regular SWEM horses, including gender division. However, there are several important differences in breeding mechanics:
- Ponies can be bred with each other, but the result is always a standard SWEM foal
- Ponies appear only through summon commands; they cannot be obtained through natural breeding
- Crossbreeding ponies with regular SWEM horses is impossible
- When breeding ponies, a foal with a random SWEM coat color is born, as ponies lack color tags (which adds an element of randomness)
Technical Features
Sometimes there may be issues with displaying pony textures - they may appear completely black. This is a temporary server-side rendering problem that is usually resolved by logging in and out of the game several times or restarting Minecraft. If the problem doesn't resolve immediately, it usually disappears over time.
Display conflicts may also occur with the Tre's Library mod and Lissa's Dressage animation pack. For minimal problems, it is recommended to remove these mods and associated resource packs.
Summon Command
To summon a pony, use the command:
/summon bagekscoataddon:pony ~ ~ ~ {"Texture":"bagekscoataddon:pony/placeholder(number).png"}
The texture file name must match the names in the assets→bagekscoataddon→horse folder
Rename your PNG file to the format "placeholder(1-50)", making sure it is indeed a PNG file.
