Balanced Transport
The Balanced Transport mod fundamentally reworks Minecraft's transportation system, making minecarts a viable alternative to more powerful movement methods like elytra and ice boats.
Main Features
Minecart Improvements
- The crafting recipe for powered rails has been changed: copper is now used instead of gold
- Superpowered rails have been added, crafted from gold, which increase minecart maximum speed to 20 m/s
- Crafting regular rails yields 24 pieces, while powered and superpowered rails yield 12 each
- Directional rails have been introduced that accelerate minecarts in only one direction
- Minecarts moving in the wrong direction on directional rails are automatically reversed
- Minecarts can start from a standstill on directional rails without needing a block behind them
- All minecart improvements from the datapack are enabled by default
Boat Changes
- All ice now melts in the Nether
- This restricts the creation of high-speed boat highways to the Overworld only
