Better Screens

Better Screens mod offers a set of convenient improvements for working with interfaces and containers in Minecraft, making gameplay more comfortable and intuitive.

Main Features

Screen Closure Protection: The server can no longer forcibly close your interfaces. This is especially useful in situations when a game starts on servers like Hypixel SkyWars and the chat suddenly disappears. This feature was originally implemented in MoulberrysTweaks.

Cursor Position Preservation: The cursor remains in the same place when quickly opening a new interface after the previous one. Essential when working with backpacks in Hypixel SkyBlock. This capability originally appeared in the Firmament mod.

Container Closing by Clicking Outside: Now you can close containers by simply clicking outside their boundaries.

Container Background Transparency Settings: Adjust the transparency level of container interface backgrounds.

Container Texture Transparency Settings: Change the transparency of container textures themselves.

Container Name Color: Customize the color of container name text. Helps solve contrast issues in some resource packs.

Player Inventory Name Color: Set the color of player inventory text when opening containers. Also useful for improving readability.

Container Interface Scale: Allows setting a separate GUI scale for containers like inventory or chests. Note: This feature is under development and may work unstable! Some interfaces may display incorrectly, conflicts with other mods are possible.

Recipe Book Shift Disable: Prevents inventory shifting when opening and closing the recipe book. Note that with large interface scale, the recipe book may not fit on screen.

Creation History

The mod was created because the original MoulberrysTweaks and Firmament were not updated to the current Minecraft version 1.21.8. Additionally, both contained unnecessary features that didn't align with the goal of creating a lightweight and specialized solution. MoulberrysTweaks also didn't support the chat screen, which was most in demand.

Some features were transferred from the Overlay Tweaks mod to reduce its overload and simplify navigation in settings. Since Better Screens covers similar capabilities, it was decided to include them here.

Additionally, features for closing containers by clicking outside and disabling recipe book shift were added, which previously existed as separate mods. These separate versions will also be maintained for users who need only specific features.
