BetterCoalItems - Expanding Coal Capabilities

BetterCoal is a modification that significantly expands the functionality of coal and charcoal in Minecraft, making these resources more useful and diverse in gameplay.

Unique Additions

The mod introduces coal and charcoal shards - smaller versions of the main resources. One standard coal or charcoal can be converted into 4 shards, with 4 shards having exactly the same smelting capacity as one full coal or charcoal (8 items).

Charcoal Block

Surprisingly, this block was still missing from the vanilla game! BetterCoalItems fixes this oversight. The charcoal block is crafted from 9 charcoal units and has the same heat capacity as a regular coal block - 80 items.

Intermediate Level Tools

The mod adds three types of tools: an axe, a pickaxe, and a sword, all made from charcoal. These tools occupy an intermediate position between stone and iron tools, which is especially useful in the early stages of the game when obtaining iron may be difficult.
