BetterCraft

The BetterCraft mod enhances Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 by adding numerous new blocks, items, and animals that significantly diversify the gameplay experience.

Why was this particular version chosen?

The main reason for developing for beta 1.7.3 is that this is the last game version without sprinting, hunger system, experience points, and potions. According to the author, these elements make the game less interesting and significantly simplify the gameplay.

Although later Minecraft updates brought some useful changes (such as the ability to place slabs and stairs upside down), the feeling of playing versions after beta 1.8 differs radically from the classic experience of the older versions.

If you have ideas for implementing modern Minecraft mechanics into this modification, you can send your suggestions to the developer. The most interesting ideas may be implemented in the main branch of the project.

There are also plans to create an add-on for BetterCraft that will add sprint mechanics and accelerated tools for fans of more dynamic gameplay.

Update from December 21, 2022: Work is underway to port the mod to versions 1.19.2 and 1.8.9.

An interesting detail: BetterCraft fully supports free distribution.

Technical Requirements

BetterCraft requires ModLoaderMp and Forge 1.0.6, which can be downloaded from the appropriate resources.
