Big items, duh! - Item Zoom for Minecraft

Created in response to community requests, this mod offers an alternative way to view in-game items.

The main feature of the mod is displaying enlarged versions of items currently under cursor focus. These zoomed-in images appear to the left of your inventory, allowing you to examine the textures and appearance of any game item in detail.
