Biome Vote Swamp
In 2019, Mojang presented the concept of swamp biome improvements through a concept video. However, as many players know, the official 1.19 release significantly differed from the original vision. Standard swamps remained largely unchanged, frogs received completely different models and color schemes only remotely resembling real amphibians, and mangrove trees took on an entirely different appearance.
The Biome Vote Swamp modification transforms the swamp update into what it should have been according to developers' original plans, fixing all the above-mentioned shortcomings and adding new enhancements!
Key Changes
Frogs
- Frog models have been comprehensively redesigned to better match their real-life appearance and the demonstration video. For proper display of new models, Entity Model Features installation is required.
- New color variations are introduced based on actual amphibian species: temperate frogs now resemble bullfrogs, tropical versions look like mangrove frogs, while cold-resistant species replicate the appearance of wood frogs.
- Froglight illumination mechanics remain unchanged.
- Expanded frog spawning conditions: they can now appear in all river biomes, including frozen rivers, and very rarely spawn in lush caves.
- Added new spawning surfaces: moss blocks, clay, and mangrove leaves.
Mangrove Trees
- Architecture and shape of mangrove trees have been aligned with the original concept from the video presentation.
Swamp Biomes
- Traditional swamp oaks have been replaced with mangrove groves.
- Foliage colors in swampy areas are synchronized with mangrove forest shades.
Mangrove Swamps
- Added possibility for witch hut generation in mangrove forests.
- Limited mud formation above 64-block height.
Updated frog models and textures operate on the client side, while other content functions on the server side. For complete access to all features, installation on both sides is recommended.
