Blaze Gear
New Nether Material
The Blaze Gear mod for Forge introduces a completely new metal - brimsteel. This unique ingot is crafted from blaze powder and other components (complete crafting recipes can be found in the images tab). Each ingot burns for 3600 ticks, making it excellent fuel.
Brimsteel Tools
Tools made from this material possess impressive fire properties:
- Set targets on fire for 3 seconds when attacking
- Break flammable blocks faster
- Automatically smelt mined blocks with corresponding experience gain
Each level of Fire Aspect enchantment increases burning duration by 4 seconds. Silk Touch works in the standard manner. It's important to note that the tools smelt the dropped items, not the blocks themselves, so nether gold ore will still drop nuggets. When combined with Fortune, the enchantment is applied before smelting the items.
Tool specifications:
- Immunity to fire and lava, like netherite
- Durability: 1750 units
- Damage corresponds to diamond tools
- Efficiency: 7.5 (for comparison: diamond - 8.0, netherite - 9.0)
- Enchantability: 16 (diamond - 10, netherite - 15)
- Can break the same blocks as a diamond pickaxe
Flint and brimsteel functions like regular flint and steel but has 7 times more durability - 448 uses.
Brimsteel Armor
When wearing a full armor set, the player gains blaze arms, smoke particles appear around them, and protection from "hot floor" and ongoing fire damage is provided. However, damage from lava and being in fire is still taken.
Armor characteristics:
- Immunity to fire and lava
- Total protection: 20 points (distribution: 3, 8, 6, 3 from top to bottom)
- Durability: 385, 560, 525, and 455 units respectively
- Toughness: 1.5 per piece
- Enchantability: 16
- Knockback resistance: 0.05 (5%, netherite has 0.1)
Block of Brimsteel
This storage block damages entities when stepped on, similar to magma blocks, but doesn't create bubble columns underwater. Light level is 7, allowing hostile mobs to spawn on and near the block. Crafted from 9 brimsteel ingots and burns for 36000 ticks.
