Important Information

Botanical Pots is a data-pack that requires a resource pack. The resource pack is attached to the data-pack version you're downloading. Please make sure to grab the resource pack as well! If you're installing it as a mod, all assets are already included in the JAR file.

What is it?

Tired of endlessly waiting for plants to grow? Or perhaps you're dissatisfied with the complexity of automating the collection of flowers, mushrooms, and especially trees? Botanical Pots offers a quick and effective solution to both problems!

Getting Started

To obtain a botanical pot, simply click on a regular pot with bone meal. After that, you can dye the ornament and even upgrade the pot, but more on that later.

Botanical pots allow you to grow trees (and, with upgrades, other plants) much more reliably, since there's no need to chop down the grown tree — a real find! Moreover, they allow you to fully automate this process.

Secret Bonus

Each plant has a small 5% chance of dropping a treat, ranging from apples to honeycombs, just be patient.

Automation ⚙️

Example of botanical pot automation

As mentioned, you can fully automate the wood collection process. It's even simpler than it seems. Just place a container under the pot, and all produced resources will be automatically stored there. This works even with blocks from other mods — couldn't be easier!

Refilling the pot isn't difficult either — a simple hopper on top will handle this task!

Good to Know

The speed of botanical pots is directly influenced by the randomTickSpeed game rule. This also means that setting it to 0 completely disables all pots.

Upgrades 🪽

Upgrades

As mentioned earlier, pots can be upgraded to gain various bonuses. To upgrade a pot, use an upgrade on it. If for some unknown reason you want to remove an upgrade from a pot, that's possible too! Just use an axe!

There are two main categories of upgrades: common and rare. As always, common ones are easier to obtain but provide possibly fewer bonuses than rare ones.

There's no need to list all upgrades in a row, just remember: when you first create a botanical pot, all recipes will be added to your recipe book. Just follow it to get the upgrade you want!

Important Feature

You can grow other plants in pots, but under one condition: the pot must have the rich soil upgrade applied! This is even shown in the image above.
