The Bovines and Buttercups mod is a creative reimagining of the Moobloom mob that originally appeared in Minecraft Earth and participated in the 2020 mob vote.

Main Features

Moobloom Variety The game introduces thirteen unique varieties of these floral cows. In the Flower Forest biome, you can encounter the classic Buttercup Moobloom and the delicate Pink Daisy Moolip. Each variant comes with its own exclusive flower.

Nutritious Nectar Using a bowl, you can milk any Moobloom to obtain Nectar - a new drink with various properties depending on the cow type. When consumed, Nectar activates the Lockdown effect, which either freezes the duration of an existing effect or makes you immune to it.

Special Ranches Ranches generate throughout the world, with their type depending on the biome. These structures will hint at the conditions needed to find different Moobloom types. Can you collect them all?

Friendship with Bees Mooblooms get along wonderfully with bees! When a floral cow lies down, bees can pollinate its flowers and bring special Nectar back to the hive. If enough of this nectar accumulates in the hive, you can collect a bottle of Rich Honey or more honeycomb than usual.

Decorative Elements By collecting flowers from different Mooblooms, you can craft a stylish Flower Crown for decoration.

Culinary Delights From nectar, you can prepare Cupcakes, while for those who prefer savory flavors, there are Mushroom Tarts made primarily from mushrooms or suspicious stew.

Visual Improvements Mooblooms and Mooshrooms have received a slight redesign in this mod. These changes can be disabled using the built-in resource packs.

Datapack Support The mod provides extensive datapack support, allowing the addition of new types of Mooblooms, Mooshrooms, and regular cows.

Greenhouse Mob Vote Collection

This mod is part of the Greenhouse Mob Vote collection, which plans to implement all mobs from the votes and add content to those that won.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there Mooblooms with vanilla flowers? No, this is a deliberate design choice to encourage exploring new content through Mooblooms. The original Buttercup was a unique flower for Moobloom in Minecraft Earth, and we follow this philosophy for all default Mooblooms. The flower crown also only supports flowers from the mod.

How to get Moobloom types that don't spawn naturally? A baby Moobloom's type is determined by the parents' surroundings at birth. Successful breeding is accompanied by colored petal particles from the blocks that triggered the change. Each Moobloom type's ranch will hint at the conditions needed for their appearance. If you breed compatible Mooblooms inside their native ranch without breaking blocks, you're guaranteed to get the desired type. When multiple suitable options are available, the type is chosen randomly.

Legacy Version Support

Due to significant changes in Minecraft's code and modloaders, versions 1.20.1 and earlier, as well as MinecraftForge, are not supported.
