Brutal Nightmare: Insane Difficult
A modification that radically increases the difficulty of Minecraft. Transforms the game into a true survival nightmare with redesigned enemy mechanics and new bosses. YouTube video showcasing the mod:
Core Enhancements
Beds no longer allow skipping the night. Hostile mobs now have enhanced detection range and increased movement speed. Passive animals (cows, chickens, sheep, etc.) fight back when one of their kind is attacked. Jockey encounters have become more frequent. When traveling in water, enemies may use boats to chase players. Spiders, phantoms, and endermen can turn transparent, making them harder to spot.
Overhauled Enemies
Zombies and husks can now build blocks and break through obstacles to reach their target. They gained the ability to throw TNT and use Ender pearls, flint and steel. They no longer take damage from sunlight. Zombies and husks spawn more frequently.
Skeletons attack with arrows falling from the sky and switch between bow and sword based on their distance to the target. They do not burn in sunlight.
Creepers can explode through walls, throw snowballs, occasionally spawn in charged form, and disguise as passive animals. Spiders immobilize targets temporarily by shooting webs.
Endermen can curse their target, leading to an attack by a nightmare enderman later, or teleport the target away. Drowned can pull targets backwards or inflict a curse that drags them into the ocean after a short delay.
Additional Changes
The Blaze splits into two smaller blazes upon death (splitting occurs only once). Can spawn in the Overworld.
The Silverfish infects its target, dealing significant damage over time and spawning two more silverfish afterwards. Phantoms lift and drop targets from a height. Fire phantoms appear when sleeping or randomly and are immune to fire damage.
Slimes shoot slimeballs. Ghasts fire multiple fireballs simultaneously. Illusioners can spawn randomly. Wither skeletons slow nearby targets.
Mini-Bosses
A Witch might transform into a Master Witch and unleash various magical attacks. Nightmare Vindicator - he cannot be eliminated permanently. His powers are negated while his form is constrained, moving triggers him. Staring into his eyes stops his advance. Placing a torch beneath his manifestation applies the restriction, activating this five times disperses him definitively.
Note: Works with Forge, Fabric, Quilt; available as separate plugin/compatibility package and dataset. Compatible with Minecraft 1.16 and above. All features can accessed via the in-game menu (/function cw:menu/main).
