CharTillA – Text to Symbol Replacement in Minecraft

This mod provides a powerful tool for automatically replacing text combinations with any symbols from the Unicode table or custom images. You can configure personalized substitutions that work in all text areas of the game: chat, books, localization files, and other places.

How It Works

Expanded Capabilities

The mod supports adding custom symbols that are not in the standard Unicode table. For this you need:

1. Create a PNG image of the symbol
2. Place it in the glyphs folder of the mod configuration
3. Select an appropriate unicode_page file with sufficient free indexes
4. Rename the file according to special rules

In naming custom symbols, a division into two parts is applied: the first two characters after "=" indicate the unicode_page file, and the last two indicate the character index in that file.

Flexible Configuration

If automatic replacement interferes in some situations, you can enable the replaceOnlyInBrackets parameter in the configuration file. In this case, replacement will only occur for text inside special brackets. The start and end of these brackets can be configured using the bracketStart and bracketEnd parameters.

This approach allows you to use an extended character set without disrupting the standard functionality of the game.
