About the Modification

Friends Forever introduces a completely new way to expand your Pokémon team in Cobblemon. You can feed both wild and tamed Pokémon, gradually increasing their affection toward you. With wild Pokémon, when their bond level becomes sufficiently high, they may voluntarily join your team!

Testing in Practice

Take some apples and treat the first wild Pokémon you encounter. The game will indicate whether the Pokémon liked the offered food. Each feeding increases the chances of the Pokémon deciding to become your companion. Using neutral reactions as a baseline, with standard settings approximately 32 treats will reliably convince the Pokémon to join your team.

Practical Applications

The modification gives players the ability to "bribe" encountered Pokémon with food when they run out of Pokéballs. You could even completely remove Pokéball recipes from the game to shift the focus from the traditional "battle-to-catch" system to a more peaceful "feed-to-tame" approach.
