Code of Copper

Code of Copper is an advanced lore-rich datapack that adds programmable Copper Golems to the game.

Various structures automatically generate throughout the world, containing storyline elements and program examples that the Copper Golem can execute. Programs are written in books and given to the golem by right-clicking while holding the book. To execute the current program, simply right-click the golem with an empty hand.

While we recommend installing this datapack in your world and gradually learning the programming language and features through gameplay, you can use the /place template bot:demo command for a quick demonstration that places a demo structure.

Code of Copper serves as an interpreter for GolemScript - the programming language used to create programs for golems.

System Requirements

  • The datapack only works in Minecraft versions 1.20.2 and above
  • Make sure to download and install the resource pack
  • The following datapack libraries are required:
    • GolemScript
    • Moxlib
    • Regex Lib

Installation

Download the latest version of the datapack along with all required libraries. Place all files in your world's datapacks folder. After installation, you must leave and rejoin the world or restart the server to activate all features.

Obtaining a Copper Golem

Golems are found in airships that spawn naturally throughout the world with the datapack installed. Airships fly approximately 200 blocks high - watch for shadows on the ground to locate them!

Each airship contains one copper golem and three GolemScript tutorial programs that will help you master programming basics.

If you want to learn the language gradually through gameplay, stop reading here - begin your adventure!

Getting Started with GolemScript

GolemScript programs are written in Minecraft books and given to the golem for execution. To explore all Code of Copper features and the programming language itself, refer to the relevant documentation:

Golem Oxidation Features

After a certain number of executed commands, the golem begins to develop patina. Use an axe to remove the oxidation. A golem completely covered in patina can be scraped clean - during this process, you'll find tutorial programs explaining GolemScript syntax.

Oxidation can be prevented by waxing the golem, and the wax can also be removed with an axe.
