Colytra

The Colytra mod offers a unique ability to combine elytra wings with any chestplate, allowing players to enjoy the benefits of flight without sacrificing protective properties and stylish appearance of armor. For Minecraft versions 1.13.2 and above, Caelus API installation is required.

How to Combine Elytra with Chestplate

The process of creating the combined item is extremely simple: just place the chestplate and elytra in the crafting grid. As a result, you'll get a chestplate with attached wings, which will be indicated by a special tooltip in the item description.

Operation Modes

The mod offers three different functioning modes that can be selected in the settings:

Normal Mode The chestplate and elytra remain as separate elements. Each of them retains their own enchantments, and flight consumes elytra durability as usual. Elytra repair is done using phantom membrane on an anvil with appropriate prior work penalties. Item separation is possible by placing the combination back into the crafting grid.

Unison Mode The chestplate and elytra completely merge into a single item. All enchantments from the elytra are transferred to the chestplate. Flight consumes the chestplate's durability/energy. Item separation is impossible.

Perfect Mode Similar to the unison mode, but with an important difference: flight does not consume the item's durability/energy.
