Command Books

This mod is primarily intended for creative mode and development purposes. In essence, it resembles using a chain of command blocks but offers a more portable and easier-to-set-up solution.

How to Use

Write commands into a book and quill, placing each command on a separate line. To execute the recorded commands, hold the book in your off-hand and use a stick in your main hand. All commands are executed sequentially, even if one of them fails.

The user of the book is considered the source of the commands. Access to using books can be restricted to a specific permission level; by default, level 2 (Game Master) is set.

In version 2 (for Minecraft 1.21.5), command books are separate items from regular books and quills and can be found in the creative inventory under the operator tab. To activate them, a Debug Stick is required instead of a regular stick.

Compatibility Features

The mod's core functionality is fully server-side.

Client-side installation is recommended for convenience to avoid having to open the book each time commands are executed. For players without the appropriate permissions to execute command books, the mod is useless.
