Create: Balanced Flight (Angel Ring)

Create: Balanced Flight is designed to solve the balance problem between wanting early-game flight for convenient base building and preserving the enjoyment of world exploration. This mod is conceived as the last flight mod you'll ever need and is intended to be used as the only flight mod in a modpack — without jetpacks, hang gliders, or other rings.
Versions before the 1.19.2 rewrite do not require Create. Requires Curios API.
What's New?
The centerpiece of this mod is the Flight Anchor — a new rotationally-powered block that converts revolutions per minute (RPM) into flight capability, similar to a beacon. For each RPM fed into the Flight Anchor, you can fly one block around it and to any height. However, the cost is high — the Flight Anchor can easily consume thousands of stress units just to start up.
Of course, once you obtain elytra, you can craft the Ascended Ring ("Angel Ring") and gain unlimited creative flight, provided you can craft it.
Improved Elytra Mechanics
This mod also overhauls elytra mechanics to reduce the impact of obtaining an angel ring in the late game and losing interest in exploration. Although creative flight is convenient for hovering, simply holding W to fly doesn't compare to how thrilling elytra flight is. Each improvement is configurable.
- Like fall damage, elytra damage is disabled.
- You can now take off from the ground with elytra, making it easier to quickly cover short distances.
- As long as you're sprinting and holding W, you'll have infinite free firework rockets that propel you forward without using up a hotbar slot.
- Pressing Crouch + C performs a "takeoff," which launches you into the sky and begins flight.
Due to these improvements, the Ascended Ring is very expensive. Modpack creators are free to change recipes and gate the Ascended Ring behind rarer modded items or make it easier.
Note: The project was initially forked from Angel Ring, although everything has been completely rewritten and retextured. Huge thanks to tterrag for the amazing Registrate library.
