The DeathQuotes mod adds an interesting element of humor to Minecraft—funny sayings that appear each time a player dies. When a character dies, the standard game shows the cause of death, and this mod adds a randomly selected joke or witty phrase to the message.

Rich Collection of Sayings

The base version features over 619 different phrases! They were all created by a large community of players, including the creator and many contributors. You can laugh at unfortunate situations or other players' deaths in multiplayer mode.

Full Customization

The user can easily edit phrase lists or create their own. If the quote file is missing from the /config/deathquotes.txt folder, the game will automatically generate the default set. This feature allows you to enjoy both original content and personalized options.

Wide Compatibility

The mod works with Minecraft versions from 1.7.10 up to version 1.20.6 and supports both single-player gameplay and multiplayer servers. It works seamlessly without the need for additional plugins like Bukkit.

Installation Process

Installing the mod is completely standard—simply move the downloaded JAR file to the /mods/ folder and restart the game or server. It is important to select the mod version that matches your Minecraft build.

Starting from Minecraft version 1.16.5, users can install the mod via Fabric. If hosting a LAN game, the mod only needs to be installed on the host computer. For multiplayer, the mod file is only required on the server side.

Updates and Settings Preservation

When updating to newer mod versions, previously saved settings remain unchanged. Updates preserve user-created quote files; the old file only needs to be deleted if you want to use the fresh sayings from the update.

Technical Details
