Dimension Scalpel - Dimension Management Tool

Important Update: Starting from Forge version 1.16.4-35.1.32, developers have fixed the vanilla game bug described below through a Forge patch.

With this Forge version, dimensions can now be safely removed from a server without needing to use Dimension Scalpel or similar tools to unregister them. The following description is preserved for historical reference.

In Minecraft version 1.16.4, the data-driven world generation system significantly simplified adding custom dimensions. However, the process of removing them turned out to be more complex.

If a mod or data pack that adds a dimension is installed on a server and then removed, an error occurs that prevents the server from recognizing the Nether and End dimensions. Details about this issue can be found in the Mojang bug tracker link.

Dimension Scalpel provides several commands to bypass this error, including:

• Removing custom dimensions from the dimension registry (without activating the MC-197860 error), allowing the removal of the mod or data pack that added the dimension from the server
• Restoring a dimension registry corrupted by the MC-197860 error

This mod is completely server-side - it doesn't need to be installed on clients unless the user wants to use it in a single-player world or on a locally hosted server.

Important note: While using Dimension Scalpel with data pack-based dimensions is generally safe, its use with other mods that add or work with dimensions may cause unexpected behavior due to unforeseen interactions.

Always create backup copies of your server's save data before using Dimension Scalpel.
