DimensionGuard

DimensionGuard provides server administrators and modpack creators with a simple tool to restrict item usage in specific dimensions. When traveling between worlds (via portal or after death), players receive notifications about which of their carried items have been blocked or re-enabled. Prohibited items are marked with a special lock icon.

Version 1.2.0 added server-side only functionality — in this case, the lock icon isn't displayed, but the player still receives a warning about the item being blocked, and its use is prevented.

In earlier versions (pre-1.1.0), the mod allowed blocking crafting or carrying certain items in specific dimensions. Blocked items were automatically removed from the player's inventory (with appropriate notification) and returned when entering a dimension where they're permitted. Upon death, these stored items would drop at the death location (unless the corresponding setting was disabled), or return to the player when respawning in a suitable dimension (for example, death in the Nether and respawn in the Overworld).

The mod supports both whitelists and blacklists, providing flexible restriction configuration. Wildcards can be used in mod and item names to select multiple elements simultaneously.

DimensionGuard is perfect for creating themed dimensions — such as magic-only or tech-only worlds, as well as preventing abuse of mechanisms like pumps in the Nether.
