Dirt Slab

This mod adds slabs made from various types of earth to Minecraft, opening up new possibilities for construction and landscape design.

New Building Blocks

Slabs are now available from the following materials:

• Regular dirt
• Coarse dirt
• Farmland
• Grass path
• Grass
• Mycelium
• Podzol

Functional Capabilities

You can interact with slabs using various tools:

• Using a shovel on dirt slabs creates path slabs
• Pressing Shift and using a shovel on a full block or double slab creates a single slab
• Shift + right-click with a shovel allows switching slab orientation (top/bottom)
• Using a hoe converts coarse dirt slabs to regular dirt slabs
• A hoe also creates farmland slabs from dirt or path slabs
• Converting farmland back to regular dirt is also done with a hoe

Natural Processes

Slabs participate in various game mechanics:

• Grass slabs can be fertilized with bone meal
• Grass and mycelium spread to both full blocks and slabs
• Sheep eat grass from grass slabs
• A growing giant pine tree converts adjacent dirt and grass slabs to podzol
• Crops and melons can grow on top and double farmland slabs
• Melons can grow on all top and double grass-type slabs
• Dead bushes, sugarcane, bamboo, mushrooms, flowers, and saplings can be placed on appropriate top and double slabs
• Snow falling on grass or mycelium slabs creates snowy coverage
• Visual particle effects are available
