Disable Double Tap to Sprint

Important Notice

This mod is no longer necessary in Minecraft version 1.21.9 and above. To disable the double tap sprint function in versions 1.21.9+, go to Controls settings and set Sprint Window to 0.

What the Mod Does

This modification completely disables the ability to initiate sprinting by double-tapping the forward movement key. That's all it does.

No external dependencies are required - the mod works in all Minecraft versions that support Fabric and NeoForge.

Why It's Useful

Since Minecraft 1.7.2 was released, the game has included a dedicated sprint key. Unless you specifically need the double-tap function for accessibility reasons, there's no advantage to using it over the dedicated sprint key. All it accomplishes is accidental sprint activations that just deplete your hunger points.

At least, that's my opinion. I created this mod for my own peace of mind during gameplay. Use it if you find it helpful.
