DnT Ancient City Overhaul
This mod is a standalone version that belongs to the Dungeons and Taverns series, but does not require the main Dungeons and Taverns mod to function. The main Dungeons and Taverns mod does NOT include the features of this addon.
Complete Transformation of the Ancient City
The mod radically changes the appearance and structure of the Ancient City, turning it into a true underground metropolis:
- Main walls have become taller and thinner
- Narrow streets and alleys have been added
- Ring structures made of deepslate cobblestone have been removed
- Rubble with archaeology loot tables has been added to all building parts
- Small residential houses have been constructed
- Reduced versions of existing city structures have been added
- A second ice structure has appeared
- 2 structures with amethyst blocks have been added
- Road lanterns have been installed on streets
- Alarm towers have been built
- 3 chests can now be found in the central city statue
Updated Loot System
The loot system has been completely overhauled:
- Iron ingots and nuggets have been added
- Gold ingots and nuggets have been added
- A rare chance to find diamonds has been introduced
- All iron and diamond tools and armor can now be found, not just hoes and pants (though they remain the most common)
- Armor trims have become rarer relative to the total number of chests in the city
City Maze
Deepslate cobblestone rings have been replaced with small houses and narrow roads, giving the Ancient City a true urban maze feel instead of the vanilla's open level design. Be careful - shriekers may hide inside houses, and it's easy to get lost in these winding paths!
Large Chambers
5 types of large chambers can now generate within the Ancient City, created based on the original city's concept art.
Illager Camps
Illager camp structures have become more compact and now display all 3 versions (which didn't happen in vanilla). Each camp has its own loot chest with ancient city raid loot.
Archaeological Excavations
Rubble can be found in all houses, mostly consisting of deepslate cobblestone, as well as gravel and suspicious gravel. Search for enchanted books, skulls, and sherds from the ancient city deep underground.
Alarm Towers
3 types of alarm towers can generate within the Ancient City, using the new amethyst resonance function to activate the always-present sculk shrieker. Climb the tower to dismantle it.
Soul fire bonfires now burn on the pillars at the city entrance, illuminating the path to the underground realm.
