Q: How do I get a dog?
Use a training treat on a tamed wolf or, in creative mode, use the doggy charm. Use a regular Minecraft stick to open the dog interface.
Q: My dog doesn't respond to commands, has 1 health and a red texture - what should I do?
When a dog's health drops to 0, it doesn't die but becomes immobilized, becoming unresponsive to any interactions. To revive your dog, feed it a cake.
Q: How does the hunger system work?
A dog has a maximum of 120 HP (hunger points). Meat increases their hunger, and the "Happy Eater" talent increases the amount gained from such food and allows them to eat fish and rotten flesh. As long as the dog has hunger, it slowly regenerates health, and when sitting - slowly regenerates hunger.
Q: Some dog textures are missing (black and purple texture)
This is intentional to allow you to add your own textures. Add textures to '\assets\doggytalents\textures\mob\dog' with the name 'doggytex$NUM$.png'
Q: Where did the command emblem go?
Starting from version 1.15.0.0, it was replaced by the whistle, which is also used for the shepherd dog and roaring gale talents. Press Shift to change the whistle type according to your needs.
Q: How do I kill a dog? (only for versions < 2.0)
A sad but frequent question :( You can disable immortality in the configuration file or use collar shears on a dog twice to turn it back into a wolf.
Q: Are dog beds and baths just decorative or do they have functionality?
Mainly decorative, but you can put your dog in the bath and it will continuously shake!
Q: Which Minecraft versions are supported?
All gameplay changes are targeted at the latest Minecraft version. Other versions will likely only receive updates for critical bugs.
