Permafrost
Permafrost is an addon for the Livestock Overhaul mod, originally created for a friend's server with the TerraFirmaCraft modpack. This addon introduces to Minecraft animals that lived during the Cenozoic era, with particular focus on the Pleistocene period.
While the mod works optimally in combination with TerraFirmaCraft, its installation is not mandatory - you can enjoy the new creatures in standard Minecraft as well.

In-game Encyclopedia
For player convenience, it's recommended to install the Patchouli mod, which adds a detailed Permafrost guide directly in the game. This feature is especially useful for beginners, allowing them to quickly familiarize themselves with the characteristics of each animal.
Solving Animation Issues
If you encounter problems with animal animations not playing correctly, this is related to peculiarities of the Geckolib library. Try disabling entity shadows in both game settings and shader settings, especially when using shader loaders like Iris. For version 1.20.1, disabling Iris/Oculus compatibility with Geckolib might also help.
