EnlightenedBlockEntities

Development Discontinued

Currently, I don't have enough free time to support this mod, so no further updates are planned. To run the original version on Forge/NeoForge, you can use Sinytra.

Fork Information

This project is a fork of the original Enhanced Block Entities mod by FoundationGames, adapted by Mr.Toad for work on various platforms.

If you encounter issues while using this mod, report them through the Github Issues system. For adding localizations, pull requests on GitHub are welcome. To access in-game settings, installation of Embeddium version 0.3 or higher is required.

Main Features

EnlightenedBlockEntities is a fully client-side Minecraft mod that significantly improves the performance of block entity rendering and provides customization options through resource packs.

How It Works

The mod replaces resource-intensive entity models with optimized baked block models for certain block entities, significantly reducing system load.

Visual Improvements

In addition to optimization, the mod offers numerous visual enhancements:

  • Smooth lighting on block entities
  • Ability to remodel block entities using block models
  • Control over special features like Christmas chests
  • Increased rendering distance for block entities

Animations

An important advantage of EBE is preserving all animations while simultaneously gaining performance improvements from using baked models. Most animated block entity models render only when necessary.

Performance Boost

Testing the rendering of 1700 chests showed impressive results:

Resource Packs

With EBE, you can edit block entity models through resource packs, as they are converted to standard .json block models.

Here's an example of customizing chests using resource packs:
