Ecologics Renewed: Refreshed Biomes with Vanilla Spirit
Do you appreciate the classic Minecraft atmosphere but wish to diversify the monotonous standard biomes? The Ecologics mod significantly improves various vanilla natural zones by adding engaging creatures, blocks, and other elements, while fully preserving the authentic style of the original game.
🏝 Beach Transformations
- Coasts now feature lush palm trees with ripe coconuts! Be cautious - mature fruits might unexpectedly fall on your head.
- Some fallen coconuts split open, turning into food, but occasionally hermit crabs emerge! Their small size is deceptive - their sturdy shell withstands multiple powerful blows. When attacked, these crustaceans will defend themselves, but if their shelter is destroyed, they'll get scared and flee! Collected claws can be used as shears or cooked as food.
- Whole coconuts provide 2 nutritious slices that not only satisfy hunger but also neutralize all effects similar to milk. The remaining husk is used in recipes as improvised bowls or for composting.
- Various seashells found along the shoreline can be used to build a miniature but impressive sandcastle!
- Sand fortresses conceal turtle eggs from zombies and other hostile creatures! Meanwhile, the eggs continue developing under the structure's protection.
- Buried treasure chests may contain a new tropical music disc!
❄️ Frosty Innovations
- Snowy and icy areas are now inhabited by penguins! They gather in groups - standing near at least four individuals grants you a regeneration effect. The birds hunt fish, which they immediately consume. Feed them fish for breeding - adults hold eggs near their feet until hatching.
- Mature penguins shed feathers needed to brew a Potion of Sliding! Under its influence, your character slides on all surfaces as if on ice.
- Icy territories feature patches of thin ice that crack from jumping. Lingering on damaged surfaces will cause you to fall through into underwater.
- New snow bricks and ice bricks with stylish designs are available for construction.
🌳 Plain Enhancements
- Plains biomes now grow unique walnut trees whose leaves drop edible walnuts.
- Plains have been populated by squirrels - feed them nuts to establish trust. When friendly, the rodents collect and plant saplings nearby. Trusting creatures can be bred using honeycomb.
- The familiar expanses have been enriched with minor additions that enliven the landscape.
🌸 Cave Wonders
- Added azalea logs and flowering azaleas, replacing standard wood on trunks. They can be processed into planks for decorative materials matching the cave and moss aesthetic.
- Gorgeous azalea flowers can be clipped with shears from flowering leaves, bushes, or wood.
- Moss carpets can be layered similarly to snow.
- Cave surfaces are adorned with surface moss - placeable on blocks (up to three layers to enhance moss coverage).
Installation Guide
IMPORTANT: The original Ecologics project by SameButDifferent wasn't updated for 2 years, and the author stopped mod development. This port continues the project.
For proper functionality:
- Download and install the main Ecologics Renewed mod.
- Get the latest version of the original Ecologics from their official site, then move the file to the resource packs folder in your Minecraft directory (the original mod serves as a texture pack).
- The mod won't function without the original pack. Operation depends on the NeoForge API that handles dynamic data - porting to the Fabric platform is currently unfeasible with implementation capabilities.
Planned Updates
An Ocean Update is in development! The previously planned Desert Update has been canceled since Mojang separately added camels in version 1.19.3 and cactus flowers in 1.21.5. Copying their structural elements becomes impossible within licensing agreements.
