Jellybeans - Fun Candy with Effects for Minecraft
Originally this content was part of my mod Mushroom Stuff, but I decided to make it a separate modification.
The Effect Beans mod adds colorful jelly beans to Minecraft. Their crafting recipe is simple: place 4 units of sugar and 1 glow berry in a cross pattern on the crafting table.
When consuming a standard jelly bean, the player temporarily gains movement speed and enhanced jumping ability for 10 seconds. These sweets cannot be stacked, so a special storage system is provided for convenience.
Colored Variations and Their Properties
By combining a regular jelly bean with dye, you get colored versions, each providing a unique temporary effect lasting 10 seconds:
- Red - increases attack strength
- Orange - protects from fire and lava
- Yellow - accelerates resource gathering
- Green - enhances night vision
- Blue - allows underwater breathing
- Pink - instantly restores 2 hearts
- Purple - gradually regenerates health
- Gray - provides slow falling
- White - makes the player invisible
Only the listed colors are compatible with jelly beans.
Bags for Convenient Storage
To solve the storage problem, create special bags: combine 2-8 jelly beans of any type with paper on the crafting table. When using the bag, one jelly bean automatically moves to a free inventory slot.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will there be a port to version 1.21? Possibly, I haven't made a final decision yet. For such a simple mod, differences between versions are minimal, but I haven't studied this issue in detail.
Are new types of jelly beans planned? Most likely not. Only if Minecraft developers add new dyes, then I will consider creating corresponding jelly beans.
Could negative effects appear? Possibly, but only if players themselves add them through crafting recipes.
