Equipment Tooltips - Informative Equipment Hints
The Equipment Tooltips mod solves one important task - adds a row with icons and numerical values above standard tooltips for tools, weapons, armor, and other items with durability. Support extends to swords, bows, pickaxes, shovels, axes, hoes, shears, fishing rods, and much more.
When possible, the mod automatically compares the item being viewed with what you already have equipped (the corresponding armor slot for armor or the main hand for everything else). A green up arrow means the characteristic is better than your current one, a red down arrow means worse, and a yellow dash shows equal values.
Each item shows only the most important characteristics for its type. For example, pickaxes are usually not used as weapons - although we don't judge if you do...
Compatibility with Other Mods
The mod works with most items that inherit standard Minecraft classes, with additional support for Silent Gear (1.13.2) and Tinkers Construct (1.12.2). Tools may behave unusually since each mod implements them differently, so for some items the values may look strange.
Supported Mods:
- Silent Gear (1.13.2+) - Silent Gear replaced Silent's Gems in Minecraft 1.13.2, so naturally the mod supports its tools and armor. Main parts also show general characteristics, making it easier to find the ideal material for crafting.
- Silent's Gems (only 1.12.2) - This feature was originally part of SGems, so support for magical characteristics and bow statistics unique to this mod is maintained.
- Tinkers Construct (only 1.12.2) - Not supported in 1.13.2 at the time of writing, since TiC hasn't updated yet. Support may be incomplete since TiC doesn't inherit standard classes. All mining tools show the same characteristics as pickaxes. Ranged weapon statistics may display incorrectly.
Icon Values
Most of the icons used are standard items from Minecraft.
- Anvil (special icon) - Durability. Displayed for all items with wear.
- Iron Ingot - Mining level. Determines which ores can be mined. Compare with regular pickaxes if you don't know mining levels.
- Pickaxe - Mining speed. How quickly the tool breaks blocks for which it is effective. Shown for pickaxes, shovels, axes, and shears.
- Sword - Melee damage. Displayed for swords and axes.
- Scepter - Magic damage (only for Silent's Gems or Silent Gear)
- Feather - Attack speed or bow draw speed (only for Silent's Gems or Silent Gear bows)
- Arrow - Arrow damage. Currently works only with Silent's Gems or Silent Gear bows, for everything else standard values are shown.
- Iron Helmet - Protection
- Diamond Helmet - Armor toughness
- Potion - Magic protection (only for Silent's Gems shields)
