Essential Warning Screen
This utility mod is specifically designed for modpack developers who care about their users' safety. It warns players about using the Essential mod and introduces them to this project's privacy policy.
How It Works
When launching the game with Essential installed, a special warning window appears that informs users about potential privacy risks.
Why Is This Important?
You might ask: why worry about privacy policy when everyone collects our data today? The answer is simple: an ordinary Minecraft mod shouldn't know where you live and other personal information.
According to Essential's current privacy policy (updated 1.08.2025), the following data is collected:
- Account information, including email address and Minecraft UUID
- Usage times and dates, time zone, language, screen resolution, and device settings
- Purchased items, their configurations, Minecraft version, mod loader version, and installed mods
- Browser type, operating system, IP address, referring/exit pages, unique device identifiers, and push notification tokens
- Activity linked to your email or Minecraft UUID
- Metadata from your user content (account name, Minecraft UUID)
- Supplementary information about you received from third parties
- Information provided by you during customer support interactions
- Geolocation data, such as the country, state, or territory where you are located when accessing the service (after which this information is anonymized by Essential)
