Evidence
Adding an Evidence System to Minecraft
This enhancement introduces two varieties of evidence into the game along with various tools to handle them—for removal as well as investigative purposes.
Types of Evidence
Blood Pool — appears at the location where a player or a villager dies (this feature is configurable via a game rule).
Footprints — remain after one player kills another player or a villager (provided the corresponding game rule is enabled).
Tools for Handling Evidence
Broom and Brush — two primary tools for clearing evidence. Both require performing 256 clicks (around 50 seconds when holding the mouse button down, but the process can be sped up with rapid clicking).
Tool characteristics:
-
Broom is easier to craft and boasts higher durability but won't help identify whose evidence you're erasing.
-
Brush is less durable but, when used, provides either a Footprint Sample or a Blood Sample according to the evidence type. The brush is consumed in this process. The obtained sample accurately reflects the evidence owner, enabling you to determine whose specific blood or footprints were collected. It also specifies whether the sample comes from a villager or player.
Additional Items
Disinfectant Spray renders evidence untraceable to any person, offering a swift method to remove clues pointing at someone while the evidence itself persists. If someone then collects this evidence with a brush, it results in an Unidentifiable Sample.
Fake Blood allows you to rapidly forge a convincingly realistic blood pool to distract attention. Using a brush on the Fake Blood yields a Fake Blood Sample.
